I hand wrapped this rich woodland green batik fabric around cotton line, which I then hand coiled and machine quilted to make it sturdy. I used the raw edge technique with a little fray. I added a rich blue batik base for a nice contrast. Both lovely batik fabrics are high quality quilting fabrics and 100% cotton! Great contrast!
I just love these beautiful green batik fabrics, they all show on the inside of the basket too! Please see the picture with the magazine to help gauge the size of this lovely basket. These batik fabrics are hand made in Indonesia, using wax resist patterns, which is very labor intensive. The results are gorgeous and unique.
